Take part in This Girl Can Week from Sunday 10 November to Sunday 17 November!

This Girl Can is all about celebrating and supporting everyday women – cis, trans, non-binary and gender diverse – to get active in supportive and welcoming environments. 

For This Girl Can Week, we’re running a range of beginner-friendly physical activity events designed to welcome beginners and those who want to try something new. Plus, the events are completely free!

What’s on

Circuit

When: Monday 11 November, 4:30pm

Where: Brunswick Baths

In this circuit class, you’ll rotate through a series of exercise stations which target different muscle groups or fitness elements like strength, cardio or agility. You’ll spend a set amount of time at each station before moving to the next, creating a full-body workout that’s high energy and varied.

Reformer Pilates

When: Wednesday 13 November, 11:30am

Where: Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre

This Reformer Pilates class uses a sliding carriage with adjustable springs for resistance to target core strength, flexibility and balance. Through controlled movements, you’ll work multiple muscle groups, building lean strength and improving posture.

Mobility and Strength

When: Thursday 14 November, 5:00pm

Where: The Fawkner Senior Citizens Centre

This strength and mobility class combines exercises that build muscle and improve joint flexibility. Movements focus on enhancing range of motion, stability and functional strength. It’s a balanced workout that promotes flexibility, control and overall resilience, helping to prevent injury and support daily activities.

Yoga

When: Friday 15 November, 12:30pm

Where: Coburg Leisure Centre

Yoga combines breathing exercises, stretches and poses to improve flexibility, strength and relaxation. Classes may vary in intensity and style, from gentle to more dynamic, but all emphasise mindfulness, alignment and connecting body and breath for a balanced, calming experience.
