Conditions of entry at Active Merri-bek

To ensure a pleasant and secure environment for all our members and guests, please take a moment to review our venue conditions of entry.

Our Venue

  1. Inappropriate, foul language and aggressive behaviour are not permitted.
  2. Please respect the rights of others and our staff.
  3. Facility operators reserve the right to refuse entry for any reason.
  4. Medical conditions: If you have any disease, illness, injury, or medical condition, it is recommended you speak with your GP or staff prior to using our facilities.
  5. Waiver and release of liability: Please acknowledge that when you are on the premises, both your property and person shall be at your own risk and shall not hold the centre or its employees liable for any personal injury or loss of property which may arise from any cause.

Aquatic Areas

  1. Lifeguards supervise our aquatic areas, however active parental supervision must be followed.
  2. In an emergency please follow lifeguard instructions.
  3. Children aged 4 years and under must be accompanied into the centre and into the water by a responsible parent or guardian and remain within arm’s reach of the parent or guardian.
  4. Children aged 5 to 9 years must be accompanied into the centre by a responsible parent or guardian and be actively supervised at all times. Parents/guardians must position themselves to have a clear view of the child with no physical or structural barriers between them and the child/children.
  5. A maximum of 2 children under 5 years old or 4 children under 10 years old can be supervised by each parent/guardian over the age of 16 years.
  6. Suitable swimwear must be worn. Articles of clothing such as street-wear, underwear, denim, bike pants and casual wear are strictly prohibited in the water. Only recognised waterproof aqua-nappies are to be worn in the water for infants.
  7. Glass objects or alcohol are not permitted.
  8. Please adhere to the safety signage around the pool area.
  9. Cameras and mobile phones are not to be used for photos or videos unless authorised by centre management.

Waterslides – Available at Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre

  1. You must be at least 120cm to ride the waterslides.
  2. Only one person is allowed on the slide at a time.
  3. You must slide down feet first and lay on your back. You must not turn around whilst on the slide.
  4. Stopping is not permitted on the slides.
  5. No jewellery or eyewear is allowed on the slides.
  6. Please exit the water immediately after the ride.
  7. Follow staff directions at all times.
  8. Failure to comply with these instructions will result in the patron being banned from using the slides.
  9. This ride may not be suitable for people who are pregnant, have heart conditions, have pre-existing medical conditions or who have leg or back weakness.
