Splish Splash Aqua Playgroup

Support your little one’s confidence and enjoyment of water from an early age!

Help your child to become comfortable and confident in and around the water in our Splish Splash Aqua Playgroup at Active Merri-bek! We believe in creating safe, enjoyable, lifelong connections to water. The Splish Splash Aqua Playgroup is a wonderful way for babies and their parents or carers to develop positive connections in a supportive social environment. 

Sessions are designed for babies aged between 3 - 6 months, catering for infant participants attending with their parents or carers. Sessions are flexible and dynamic, designed with you and your baby in mind.

We understand that your first playgroup session can be slightly daunting, but with a fully trained and accredited swim teacher present at all times, you can relax and enjoy safe and rewarding aquatic experiences with your baby.

Session Info

Launching Splish Splash at Coburg Leisure Centre, Fawkner Leisure Centre and Brunswick Baths. 
Splish Splash sessions are held in our heated indoor pool at the below times:
Brunswick Baths - Wednesday 12:00-12:30pm 

Coburg Leisure Centre - Friday 11:30am-2:00pm 

Fawkner Leisure Centre - Friday 12:00-12:30pm 

Cost

$8.70 per adult, children free. Book via our Active World app.

Program Benefits

Our Splish Splash program aims to gently introduce infants aged 3–6 months to the aquatic environment through safe and supportive parent-assisted experiences.

The program focuses on early familiarisation and water adjustment,
fostering trust, comfort, and routine exposure to water in a nurturing setting. It's a water education playgroup.

Our Splish Splash program is offered as casual sessions, meaning there is no commitment to weekly sessions or lock-in terms. You can come as little or as often as you like.

No - Parents/carers will be able to stand in the water at all times during the sessions. However, it is important that parents or carers bringing their babies to Splish Splash sessions must also be calm and confident in and around water.

We're happy to help our participating parents or carers learn to safely and confidently swim through our Adult Swimming Lessons program.
