Why it’s worth it

These enhancements are designed with you in mind—creating vibrant, modern, and user-friendly spaces that improve every aspect of your experience. We appreciate your understanding as we work toward delivering a facility you can be even prouder of!

What’s happening to swim lessons during the pool closure?

We highly encourage you to continue swimming during this time at our other Centres, as consistency increases your/your child’s progression rapidly while developing the skills needed to have a safe and fun swimming experience in the warmer months!

Did you know that access to all Active Merri-bek Aquatic Centres is included in your Membership fee?

Visit Coburg Leisure Centre, Fawkner Leisure Centre (indoor pools open all year round) and our seasonal pools whenever you like!

Please review the below to understand the options available to your/your child’s level and how we can help you continue to practice these important skills during the closure.

1. Teen Intermediate, Dolphin, Shark, Squad and Stroke Correction Students

As these lessons are located in the 50m outdoor pool, they will run as usual with the potential of some timetable adjustments.

2. Tuna Students
Tuna lessons will be moved to the outdoor 50m pool, however if this doesn’t suit you can advise your preference to join a class at Coburg Leisure Centre or Fawkner Leisure Centre.

3. Inclusion and Private Students
Students can choose to swim at the other Centres (Coburg Leisure Centre and/or Fawkner Leisure Centre) without a lesson, or be placed on suspension.

4. All other Students
All other students will have the option to potentially continue lessons at either Coburg Leisure Centre or Fawkner Leisure Centre, provided there is program space.

They can also choose to not have a lesson and swim recreationally at Coburg Leisure Centre and Fawkner Leisure Centre and continue to practice your/your child’s skills at your own convenience – we will provide students remaining active during this period Activity Sheets to guide you while practicing your skills.

If none of these options suit, you can choose to suspend.
