How to register
Online registrations are now open for the 2026 Fun Run and Walk event! Follow the below steps to secure your registration for this amazing community event today:
1. Click the ‘Register now’ button on this page.
2. Select from the options which category you will be making this registration
- 5km Walk - Adult or Child,
- 5km Run - Adult or Child
- 10km Run - Adult or Child
a. We need this to be specific in order to migrate your details accurately onto the timing system on the day
b. Please be aware that only one booking can be made per category at a time. If you are booking for multiple children/adults in the same length of race (5km run/walk or 10km run), please do so by making another separate booking. This is also so the details of all participants can be accurately migrated across to the timing system.
3. Once you’ve selected the category, select ‘Apply’
4. Select ‘Book Now’
5. Enter your details, including full name, email address and phone number, and select ‘Checkout’.
6. Input all of your debit card details, and select ‘Pay and Confirm’
On the day Fun Run registrations are possible by visiting reception at Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool from 8am onwards on March 15, however online registrations are heavily encouraged to ensure the event begins on time, so please follow the steps above or reach out via email to ActiveMerri-BekCommunity@ymca.org.au if you are having issues.
Event details
Course
Our carefully designed course will take you along the scenic route of the Merri Creek trail, offering beautiful views and a refreshing atmosphere. Distance markers will line the course and the enthusiastic Coburg Harriers will be on hand to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
What to expect on the day
Arrive early on the day to collect your race bib. An official event opening will take place at 8:45am with the Merri-bek mayor, followed by a group warm-up to ensure you're ready to go. There will be water stations and first aid support along the course, if needed. After crossing the finish line, celebrate your achievement with fellow participants and enjoy a post-run BBQ, coffee and the medal presentation.

Every year, the Active Merri-bek Fun Run and Walk raises funds for the Y’s Charitable Fund, supporting community members experiencing disadvantage by subsidising access to programs and services.
