What is a Winter Passport

Winter Passports are for all of our students to encourage them to continue swimming over the winter period.

Start date

Monday 29 May 2023

How to collect your Winter Passport

Passports can be collected from our TICs' (Teacher In Charge) from Monday 15 May during Milo week or at reception.

Between Monday 15 May to Sunday 21 May, Brunswick Baths and Coburg Leisure Centre are offering free Milo after swimming lessons. Don’t forget to grab a Milo on the way out and collect your Winter Passport.

Starting on Monday 29 May for the full 11 weeks, students with a passport will need to visit their TIC or see reception each week to get their stamp.

Please note, students will be given one 'free pass' so if you forget to get a stamp one week, our TIC can backdate it. Remember this can only be used once and will be noted on your passport.

Prizes to be won

  • 1st prize - tickets to Gumbuya World for 1 adult and 1 child
  • 2nd prize - tickets to Urbansurf for 1 adult and 1 child
  • 3rd Prize - tickets to What the Putt for 1 adult and 1 child

Winners for the Winter Passport will be drawn on Monday 21 August 2023.

Benfits of swimming over winter

We understand that with winter around the corner, bringing the kids in for a swim can be more challenging. But here are some reasons why it is important to keep them swimming and also some handy tips over winter:

  • building confidence and skill development;
  • retain technique and continue the learning process;
  • children are no more likely to catch colds from swimming than they are during summer (that’s a myth!);
  • we highly recommended that after the swimming lessons, children are rugged up in a change of clothes and beanie before going outside. This will help regulate their body temperature!
