Women of Merri-bek is back in 2026!
Join the Active Merri-bek team for a eight-week health program that has helped women in the community get healthier through exercise and education. We’re looking for up to 30 women who live, work or recreate in Merri-bek that want to change their lifestyle for the better.
With educational sessions from industry leaders including Nutrition Australia, Beyond Blue and Women’s Health in the North, this program will empower you to take control of your own health and wellbeing. During the program, you’ll be able to connect with other women and create a community of your own.
Each weekly topic has been handpicked because it impacts women’s health. You can expect to learn about mental health, nutrition, body image and self-esteem and so much more.

Why women’s health?
Research shows that Women in Merri-bek and in surrounding suburbs have lower rates of physical activity, poorer mental health and there is a higher proportion of adults living with one or more chronic conditions compared to the Victorian average.
At Active Merri-bek we want to help women improve their physical and mental health whilst making great connections.
What happens in the program?
At the start of each session you will complete a 45-minute workout. We cater to every fitness level and all abilities are welcome.
After the workout, you’ll listen to a presentation, complete an activity or have a group discussion about a topic impacting women’s health.
