Fawkner Leisure Centre offers a range fitness challenges to help you achieve results. These challenge programs generally run for 4 or 8 weeks. Upcoming challenge programs and information will be listed on this page. 

Boxing – 4 week challenge

Location Fawkner Leisure Centre
Dates Monday May 16 - Sunday 12 June 2022
Commitment 3 sessions per week
When Monday: 5:30pm Wednesday: 8:30am Friday: 7:15am
Cost Free for members. $16.50 per session for non-members
Included  2 x Evolt body composition scans and reports

Goal

Improve overall body strength and cardio and boxing technique.

Tools and techniques

  • Shadow boxing: boxing without an opponent. Practice your technique by moving and throwing boxes in the air.
  • Pad work boxing: boxing with with mitts and a partner holding up a pad.
  • Heavy bag boxing: boxing with a firm, heavy, cylindrical bag. Gain a full body workout and enhance core stability, power and endurance.
  • Speed bag boxing: boxing a small punching bag to improve boxing speed and rhythm as well as stamina and coordination.
  • Cardio training: cardio exercises such as skipping, high knees, push ups and burpees.
  • Strength training: Body weight and free weight exercises to make you stronger and your boxing more powerful.

Prizes

Each time you attend a boxing challenge session you will go into the draw to win great prizes including a 1 month gym membership, boxing gloves and more!
