Women’s only swimming
Our women’s only swimming sessions are supervised by female staff and include access to a private heated indoor pool and spa. Come along to connect with others in a safe, private environment. Children five years and under are welcome to attend.
Day: Friday (starting from 28 February 2025)
Time: 6.30pm – 8:00pm
Price: Free for members, $10.00 for casuals
Activities
Whether you’re after a relaxing swim, want to develop your swimming skills or get active – we’ve got an activity for you. You can choose to take part in:
- Lap swimming
- Free play
- Adult swim lessons
- Aqua aerobics class at 7:00pm
You can also use our spa, steam room and sauna.
Men’s only swimming
Our men’s only swimming sessions are a great opportunity for men of different backgrounds and religions to swim comfortably together. Children five years and under are welcome to attend.
Day: Sunday (starting from 2 March 2025)
Time: 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Price: Free for members, $10.00 for casuals

Watch Around Water policy information
YMCA Victoria is a Watch Around Water endorsed aquatic safety organisation. Watch Around Water is a set of industry guidelines that outline the minimum supervision requirements of young children at aquatic venues.
We have followed the Watch Around Policy (outlined below) in our centre since 1 September 2019.Children under five years old
- All children must be accompanied into the centre by a person over the age of 18 and be supervised within arms’ reach at all times in the water.
- All children must wear a pink wristband supplied by YMCA staff to help identify their age while swimming.
- Children will not be admitted without a full fee paying parent/guardian who must also be in the water at all times.
- Groups will not be admitted entry where the number of parents/guardians supervising a group of children under five years exceeds the ratio of 1:2.
Children under 10 years old
- All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied into the centre by a person over the age of 18.
- All children must be actively supervised by an adult over the age of 18 at all times. The adult must have a clear and active view of the child with no physical or structural barriers between them (this includes tech and devices
- such as mobile phones).
- All children must wear a yellow wristband supplied by YMCA staff to help identify their age while swimming.
- Groups will not be admitted entry where the number of parents/guardians supervising a group of children under 10 years exceeds the ratio of 1:4.

Do I need to book to attend the session?
No booking is required for general aquatic use (casual swim or spa). When you arrive, just let the friendly staff at reception know that you are here for the men’s or women’s only swimming session. -
Can I bring my child with me?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your child with you ensuring that you adhere to our Watch Around Water policy.
All children under five with a pink Watch Around Water wristband can accompany you in the women-only session.
Girls and non-binary swimmers with a yellow wristband can participate in the women-only session. -
What do I wear?
We recommend wearing appropriate swimwear such as bathers and goggles so that you feel comfortable using the facilities.
Nappies, underwear, jeans/denim, clothing with zippers, or long skirts are not allowed in the pool.

Are women and men’s only swim sessions LGBTIQA+ friendly?
Yes, anyone who identifies as a woman is welcome to attend our women’s only swimming sessions.
These sessions are designed for women from culturally and marginalised communities who would not otherwise be able to access the swimming pool during regular hours. -
Do you offer men only swimming lessons?
Unfortunately, swimming lessons are not currently offered during the men’s only session.
We are taking expressions of interest, so if you would like men’s only swimming lessons to be run in future, please let us know.

Will there be women’s and men's only gym sessions?
Yes! In the future, we will be running single-gender gym and group fitness sessions.
