A personal training program could be all you need to reach your health and fitness goals.
Working consistently with a personal trainer over time is a sure way to reach your fitness goals, whatever they may be! Our personal trainers will plan and deliver sessions tailored to your fitness level and the goals you want to achieve, so we'll match you with the right personal trainer for your needs.
Personal training sessions run for 30, 45 or 60 minutes. You can choose to book a one-on-one session or two-on-one session.
During the sessions, you'll have access to our fully equipped gym and designated training space. Trainers will monitor your progress with our Tanita body scanner and regular benchmarking.

Our trainers maintain a full range of qualifications as a mandatory requirement, and many have extra qualifications in specialised fields such as post-injury, pre and post pregnancy, youth exercise and older adults.

You can pay for personal training per session or buy five or 10 visit passes, with different fees for members and non-member.

Booking conditions
Bookings open one week prior to the class start time (to the minute).
Cancellation policy
Cancellations made no later than 12 hours prior to the booking will result in a product return being added to your online customer account. Cancellations for medical reasons must present a medical certificate up to week after your booked sessions to receive a product return to your account.

Personal training terms and conditions
Active Merri-bek personal training Terms and Conditions
- Upon purchasing personal training at Active Merri-bek centres, the paying client agrees to these Terms and Conditions ongoing with any single pack purchases.
- Sessions commence at the appointed time. If you arrive late, the length of the session is not extended.
- To avoid wasting valuable training time it is advised that you arrive early to warm up.
- Preference of personal trainer is subject to availability.
- PT single and package purchases are non-refundable – any session purchase and not used within the expiry will be forfeited.
- Multi Visit Passes are non-transferrable and non-refundable.
- Fees must be paid prior to the PT session on client booking portal.
- Expirations – 10 and five session Multi Visit Passes expire 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Single and package sessions must be redeemed and used in full within twelve months of the purchase date.
- Personal training sessions can not be conducted on public holidays.
- All cancellations must be communicated directly to the trainer.
- Cancellations without any charge must be made a minimum 12 hours before the agreed start time of the session.
- More than 12 hours’ notice of the cancellation, will result in a credit to your online customer account.
- Cancellation within 12 hours of the booking will result in processing of payment.
- If less notice than stated above is given or client fails to show up for a session, the full cost of the session will be incurred.
- If you are more than fifteen minutes late for an appointment and have not notified the trainer of a delay, this will be considered a failure to show.
- Request for a new or different personal trainer during the completion of a pack is permitted by contacting PT.activemerribek@ymca.org.au with the request.
- Personal training members must follow the Active Merri-bek Conditions of Entry and Gym Floor rules, including bringing and using a towel to each session
- Personal training clients must notify the personal trainer of any health conditions that could worsen with exercise, including health changes during the trainer and client relationship.
